Playing assassins in wuxia flick Reign Of Assassins couldn’t have been much of a stretch for Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh, 48, and Taiwanese starlet Pace Wu, 32.
By day, both women were such washouts at the Reign Of Assassins photocall, the fashion police really needed to put a hit on them. But by night, when the red carpet was rolled out for the film’s premiere, they transformed into different people and showed off killer style.
1 Strapless dresses are never a good silhouette for Yeoh as they always make her appear tinier and thinner than she is, and this flirty violet frock did just that.
Pairing such a soft and light garment with edgy black gladiator booties from Atelier Versace was also a misstep.
2 Wu is one of Taiwan’s top fashionistas and is famous for her perfect figure.
But judging from this shapeless, DIY-looking pale pink Shiatzy Chen ensemble at the same event, you wouldn’t know it.
It’s as if Wu thought the dress code was bridal and waltzed into the wrong ballroom.
3 The ever-elegant and classy Yeoh did a U-turn at the Reign Of Assassins premiere and looked nothing short of radiant in her ethereal green Alberta Ferretti one-shoulder silk gown.
She accessorised perfectly with a gold Salvatore Ferragamo box clutch and flamboyant Boucheron statement earrings.
She also loved those Atelier Versace booties so much she wore the metallic version here. And this time, they worked surprisingly well with the dress.
4 Wu’s role in the movie is minor, but she made a major impact wearing a sexy asymmetrical mustard Versace gown with mirror panels and a high slit.
A gold clutch and heels from Versace were the perfect finishing touches.
