SINGAPORE: MediaCorp has bagged nine awards including two gold at the prestigious PromaxBDA Asia 2010 Awards.
The competition recognises the best creative marketing campaigns in the Asian entertainment industry.
Channel 8 was the station's biggest winner, with two gold and three silver awards.
The gold awards were bagged by “Gate Keepers – Boxing”, in the Best Entertainment and Variety Promo, and “My Family” which won the Best Public Service Announcement Challenge 2010, a category MediaCorp is participating in for the first time.
Cop series “Unriddle” took silver in the Best Drama Campaign category, while “The Little Nyonya” clinched two silver awards for Best Drama Promo and Best Editing.
Channel 5 won two silver awards, with “Singapore Idol” taking the award for the Best Entertainment and Variety Campaign while “The Noose 3D” took the award for the Best Comedy Campaign.
Okto's “Life Campaign” clinched silver for Best Documentary Campaign.
MediaCorp's own green initiative “Saving Gaia” won silver in the Best Public Service Announcement category.
Danny Loh, MediaCorp TV Singapore's creative director (Channel 8), said: “Normally for MediaCorp…statistics (show) we do better at Promax World. So for this round, I think we are quite surprised…..to garner five awards just for Channel 8 alone in this Asian competition. I think we're all overwhelmed.”
